We continue our tour of the Hopen house... After a leisurely dinner out on the patio, we move back through the wall-sized glass doors to the kitchen; a space engineered to stay calm and sleek even while cooks are busy.

Supplies wait behind lacquered tall cabinets from Varenna Kitchen by Poliform; a mix of their Minimal and Matrix lines. The Minimal line is versatile and elegant, featuring the integrated handle on all doors, which adds to the strong character and singular style of this design.

In our kitchen Poliform's beautiful veneers enable a Sub-Zero fridge and freezer and a Miele dishwasher to blend in. An added benefit of Poliform cabinetry is that it’s made to accommodate built-in, high-end appliances, such as our Sub-Zero refrigeration drawers, wine cellar, and beverage storage, providing a perfect fit for Gaggenau warming drawers, a steamer compartment, coffee maker, and 5 burner gas range.

The dramatically practical range hood is also from Poliform, as is the walnut dining table, which echos the wood flooring. Tucked up to the table are modernist classic Brno MR50 chairs, originally designed in 1929-30 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe for a house in Brno, Czechoslovakia. The steel frame is shaped from a single piece and wrapped to create arms, legs, and a cantilevered seat. Here, they are covered in the same bright green as was used outside, but in a rich Spinneybeck leather.
