Creating 9288 Sierra Mar

9288 Sierra Mar, our hillside contemporary home in Los Angeles is alive with texture and color.

A modern eclectic palette was used in the design, with touches of Asian and Italian influence, and the texture in the roughness and depth of the stacked slate entryway is contrasted with the smooth steel front door.

Inside, contrast continues with the silky onyx and dramatic black used in both fireplaces. The onyx is lit from behind creating a golden glow.

Extensive use of polished wall tile, stone, terrazzo flooring, and glass brings an airy crispness to the design. Bold tiles by Ann Sacks and Walker Zanger enliven the guest baths.
