International Space Station design here on Earth. There is now a very smart new building in Mountain View, California; NASA’s Sustainbility Base, a building that thinks, learns, and creates more energy than it uses.

This LEED Platinum rated structure is loaded with space-age technologies. Sensors allow the building to detect changes in temperature, sunlight, wind, and occupancy, and make energy saving adjustments with the use of a photovoltaic array, a wind turbine, and a grey water recycling system.
