The open floor plan of our Hopen house allows guests to move easily from kitchen to living room, for coffee and dessert.

Four custom 10ft x 10ft glass sliding doors provide a view of the pool and patio from the living area as well, where a warmly inviting conversation circle is created with B&B Italia sofas, along with their Harry armchairs in blue.

The large-sized Harry ottoman serves as an appealing focal point for coffee or as a game table, and the distinctive chairs in the library alcove are Utrecht, designed in 1935 by G.T. Reitveld, exclusively at Cassina.

Born in 1888, Gerrit Thomas Rietveld was a Dutch architect and furniture designer known for his bold use of geometrics and color. In his 30's he was influenced by the Dutch painter Mondrian, and by the Cubist movement.

Surrounding the Utrecht chairs in the living room are illuminated library cabinets of Wenge, an African hardwood. Also Wenge are the smooth panels at the entry, which contain storage, while subtly concealing the door to the powder room.
