modern architect santa monica
Santa Monica, with its coastal setting, easily walkable streets, and relaxed LA lifestyle, is the perfect location for our luxury resort style homes. As a modern architect in Santa Monica, we design bright, spacious houses with luxury indoor outdoor living spaces that feel private, despite the densely populated neighborhood. Many sites in the area are compact city lots, but by emphasizing the abundant Southern California light, via skylights and glass walls, and with a seamless flow between interior and exterior living spaces, our Santa Monica homes live like airy retreats within the city. Light filled lower levels (our "anti-basements”) further expand a design, with room for entertainment and wellness options, like home theaters, wine bars, game rooms, salons, and home gyms. Outside, pool terraces with kitchens, fire features, and landscaping suited to the coastal conditions invite outdoor living, year around. Whether a project is near the bluffs, in a family neighborhood, or close to the beach, our goal as a Santa Monica modern residential architect is to design luxury homes for resort style LA living, customized for the lifestyle and needs of our clients, private homeowners and developers both.
With years of experience as a Santa Monica modern architect, we understand the unique challenges of building in this part of Los Angeles: smaller lot sizes, tighter setbacks, coastal climate conditions, the need for materials that can withstand moisture and salt air, and some of the region’s strictest sustainability standards. We account for privacy needs in walkable neighborhoods, acoustical considerations, and the city’s unique permitting requirements, while working with land use consultants, engineers, and specialists familiar with Santa Monica’s height restrictions, neighborhood compatibility standards, building guidelines, environmental standards, and sustainability requirements. We also have experience designing custom homes that meet the requirements of neighborhood HOA’s. Smart home technologies, including automated or remotely controlled window shades, and motorized windows and doors can be incorporated into designs, as well as solar power and greywater systems. Regardless of the site condition, we are happy to provide full-support architectural services, and approach every project with our practical expertise, technical knowledge, and modern design sensibility.
