Modern resort style homes are retreats from the outside world, places to live out nearly every facet of our lives, in the comfort and privacy of our own space. Home movie theaters (and media rooms) complement this luxurious mode of living, inviting us to unwind and relax, escape the day, explore, and get inspired, without having to go anywhere.

Looking through our design archives at the number of projects and the terrific clients we’ve enjoyed serving over the years, nearly four decades has added up to a body of work that we’re excited to share!

This project was built adjacent to the Mountain Course in the Bighorn Golf Club, Palm Desert, California, in the foothills of the Santa Rosa Mountains.

The desert is open space and long views, but also the close-up, detailed perfection of the cactus flower. It is nature’s serene minimalism. This is the setting for our project inside the gated community of The Vintage in Indian Wells, California.

We are very pleased to be working again with renowned sculptor Richard Erdman. Our first partnership was for our Trousdale project, where his Serenade presides over the entrance.

The modern earth sheltered house is primarily built into the side of a hill or berm with a glass aperture providing illumination for the space.
