Set within a quiet residential neighborhood in Encino, Los Angeles, High Valley is a modern courtyard residence organized around a single, expansive outdoor living space, and the result is a luxury home that balances openness, privacy, and contemporary California living.

From the street, the architecture presents a quiet composition of floating horizontal roof lines, warm wood cladding, textured stone, and expansive glass. A generous motor court leads to an entrance framed by reflecting pools and fire features, establishing a calm arrival, before the home opens up to the spaces beyond.

At the heart of the design, the living room, dining room, family room, kitchen, and bar are arranged around a central courtyard, anchored by a modern pool terrace. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass walls ensure that this outdoor area functions as a seamless extension of the indoor spaces; and covered lounges, outdoor dining areas, a barbecue pavilion, and fire and water features create a luxury setting that’s equally suited to quiet days, and large-scale entertaining.

The home’s design balances open gathering spaces with areas for privacy and retreat. The primary suite and three additional bedroom suites are located on the main level, complemented by a lower floor with a home gym, wine room, and lounge. Above, a glass-floored bridge crosses the open central volume to a secluded fifth bedroom suite, opening up sightlines throughout the home, and allowing natural light to filter between floors.

Throughout High Valley’s design, architecture, landscape, and interior spaces are carefully composed to create a sense of both openness and privacy, as well as warmth. Natural light, expansive glazing, and a restrained material palette reinforce the home's calm character, while the central courtyard invites lively outdoor living, year around. It’s a contemporary home that's both refined, and comfortably livable.
