Maximizing Luxury in Minimal Spaces: Indoor-Outdoor Living Under 10,000 Square Feet
Luxury resort style living doesn’t require an enormous home or modern estate, it can be enjoyed in as little as 5,000-10,000 square feet.
Iconic Movie Houses - Part II
Here is part II of our exploration of iconic modern homes featured in film:
Iconic Movie Houses - Part I
Each of our designs is inspired by the lives of those who will work, live, and play in them. The lives that occupy the work, inspire the body of work. Architectural spaces hold the stories of our lives, and similarly, movie settings are containers for unfolding storylines.
Creating BigHorn
This project was built adjacent to the Mountain Course in the Bighorn Golf Club, Palm Desert, California, in the foothills of the Santa Rosa Mountains.
Creating Serenity
The desert is open space and long views, but also the close-up, detailed perfection of the cactus flower. It is nature’s serene minimalism. This is the setting for our project inside the gated community of The Vintage in Indian Wells, California.
Modern Home Outdoor Living
A house open to the outdoors is now a staple of modern residential design and is a defining hallmark of Whipple Russell’s design for a West Coast lifestyle.
The Modern Swimming Pool
Pools, as seen from the air, miles of cool blue dots, glittering diamonds of leisure and communion, became a central modern character in many of David Hockney’s 1960’s and ‘70s paintings.
Pools in the Time of Drought
Should the iconic, sparkly blue Southern California swimming pool be sacrificed in the name of water conservation?
Creating Laurel Way
Seeing is believing, and apparently our soon-to-be client, Richard, became a believer after watching our house on Summit Drive go up.
Creating Wallace Ridge
This project began with former clients’ wish to move back closer to the city of Beverly Hills.
The California Ranch Remodel
Our client on this project in North Hollywood was himself a developer / builder and needed a cohesive design to re-imagine this suburban classic - the California ranch.
